Robin van Persie grew up as an Arsenal supporter and made his dream move to the North London club in 2004. He won the FA Cup in his first season, coming on as a sub for extra time, but this would be his only winners medal during his time at the club.
He was named captain in 2011 after fellow badge kisser Cesc Fabregas left for Barcelona.
The following summer, Van Persie left Arsenal for Manchester United and won the Premier League in his first season. He was also the league’s top scorer.
Now away with Manchester United on their pre-season tour, Van Persie wore the captain’s armband for the first time in their 5-1 win in Australia against the A-League All Stars.
