Paint it black

Ian Black’s father played for Hearts and he was a ballboy there when he was a lad. He made his dream move on Christmas Eve 2008 and has gone on to play almost 100 games for them…

In December 2011, Hearts were having problems paying the wages, meaning Black took on a part time job as a painter and decorator. This doesn’t put him off kissing the badge though.

During a game between Hearts and local rivals Hibernian in January 2012, “Paint It Black” by The Rolling Stones was played at half-time. At full-time, Black revealed a message underneath his shirt.
