Manchester City man booed for refusing to kiss badge

Alvaro Negredo joined Valencia on loan from Manchester City in the summer of 2014. When he was presented to the fans in front of 11,000 supporters at the Mestalla, he was asked to kiss the badge. Negredo, who is from Madrid, and played for Rayo Vallecano and Real Madrid when he was younger, refused.

Negredo replied rather awkwardly that “he will have enough time to kiss it in the near future” but the Valencia fans were not impressed.

A large section of the supporters started to jeer and whistle before expletive-filled chants were aimed at the striker, chanting “pu** Sevilla” (fu***** Sevilla), in reference to the club he spent four seasons at before joining City.
