After scoring the penalty that sealed Champions League success for Chelsea, Didier Drogba celebrated with the fans by kissing the badge.
Three days later, Drogba announced he would be leaving the club after failing to sign a new contract, meaning he would leave Chelsea on a free transfer.
“I wanted to put an end to all the speculation and confirm that I am leaving Chelsea,” Drogba told the club’s official website. “It has been a very difficult decision for me to make and I am very proud of what we have achieved but the time is right for a new challenge for me.”
